Coming off their first win of the season against Devon last week the Hawks will aim to back up for successive victories and have a full squad available for the first time in the opening three rounds with Danni Pickett and Zoe Claridge returning to the team.
“We will be looking to start strongly against a quick young Karana side,” Northern Hawks coach Ruth Tuohy said. “Our defensive game will be the main focus to ensure we delay them with the ball and force errors that we can consistently convert into goals.”
Northern Hawks 19 and under coach Kellie Tahiri expected a tough challenge in their game with Karana having a strong shooting group with three state representatives likely to keep their defenders on their toes.
“We will be looking to make a solid start and build on our game plan during the match to secure a second win,” Tahiri said.
The 19s play at 4.40pm and the opens at 6.15pm.
