The festival will begin on Friday night with the screening of Sea Gypsies – The Far Side of the World and The Adventure Dispatch at the Cradle Mountain Hotel.
Festival co-coordinator Anthony O’Hern said all of the films have an adventure element. “They are not all hard core adventures ... but they are all really interesting stories,” he said.
In addition to the screening of films, there will also be an Ingredients for Adventure Workshop for budding film makers. Mr O’Hern said part of the premise behind the workshop is to help Tasmanian film makers to go out and tackle the world stage.
With Cradle Mountain as a backdrop, on Saturday night there will be an outdoor party and screening of Mountainfilm on Tour which will follow a shortlist of the best short adventure films made in the state over 2016/2017.
On Sunday, movie buffs are encouraged to make their way between five movie showing huts.
