In this ‘unique’ program, Rutter will play up to 12 different classical and ethnic flutes, including silver, gold, wooden, bamboo, and ebony flutes and Irish whistles.
The session also includes Jean-Jacques Rousseau solo flute version of ‘Spring’, from Vivaldi: The Four Seasons.
Rutter was awarded a French Knighthood in 2016 for her contribution to arts and describes herself as a “classical free spirit who uses the flute as a tool of mystical communication”.
Her wide repertoire includes Baroque and Classical Fantasies, Indian Ragas, Ancient and Contemporary incantations and her own original works.
The concert starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are available from theatrenorth.com.au. Prices start from $15, adults $55.
Rutter held an All-Instrument and Workshop and Masterclass on Wednesday in Burnie, before performing on Thursday night.
