A Ravenswood man had a narrow escape when his van burst into flames on Monday.

Max Nicholas was visiting his daughter at Trevallyn when he noticed smoke coming out from underneath the hood of his car.
“I opened the bonnet and I was confronted by a ball of flame, fire engulfed the entire car within 20 minutes,” he said.
Tasmania Fire Service and Tasmania Police both attended and the fire was under control within half-an-hour.
A TFS spokesman said there were no suspicious circumstances around the fire.
