Raising money to resow four of the farm’s paddocks, the event attracted about 300 people and featured starring performances from dalmatians, huskies and baby Clydesdales.
“The miniature goats have been a pretty big hit,” Exeter High School agriculture teacher Liam Fox said.
“There's plenty of interest in our young bull calf as well, and alpaca shearing is pretty interesting, they’re an interesting critter when they get their hair cut, they make some funny noises.”
Mr Fox said agricultural education was becoming increasingly valued in Tasmania.
“You drive five minutes out of Launceston and you're in farmland, and that's what we're trying to teach kids, to make them aware of the employment possibilities there are in agriculture which are right on their doorstep.
“Especially Exeter kids, most of them come from farming areas or even some small hobby farm areas.”
