Taste of Trevallyn, the school’s annual fair, is on tomorrow night and tastebuds are already tingling at the range of food on offer.
As previewed by the school’s students, those attending Taste of Trevallyn has a vast a menu to choose from, including pulled pork, barbecue, nachos, sushi, Chinese and cheese platters, with ice cream, cake, popcorn or coffee to finish off their meal.
Taste of Trevallyn coordinator Ange Shipp said the fair was the school’s biggest fundraiser.
“It is a big community event, with many people from the local area who visit the Taste – even those with no connection to the school – because of the quality of food and entertainment we offer,” Mrs Shipp said.
“Taste is a good opportunity for those who are new to school to meet new friends, and for others to mingle with old ones,” she said.
Those feeling active could try a spin in the Zorb balls, mini golf and a bounce on the jumping castle, or head across the road to Trevallyn Oval for yoga or games with Launceston Football Club, Cricket Tasmania and Riverside Olympic.
If you prefer your fun to be on the slower side, try coloured hair spray, temporary tattoos, face painting, showbags, potted succulents or put a bid on the silent auction.
“Each class prepare and look after a stall on the night, from food stalls to games,” Mrs Shipp said.
“We have a number of external stall holders too, one of which is the Riverside Lions Club who do a great job of supporting our school community,” she said.
Trevallyn’s music teacher, Andrew Lamb, has also organised musical acts from the school, Riverside High School and Launceston College to perform throughout the night.
Taste of Trevallyn is on tomorrow night between 5pm and 8pm at Trevallyn Primary School, Gorge Rd, Trevallyn.
