Three successive wins has rocketed Collingwood’s feeder side onto the fringe of the final four after a rocky start.
A tough initiation against the top four ANL sides at first yielded two wins in seven games, but the run home that included back-to-back victories against the Territory Storm has split their record.
The Tasmanians will travel to Sydney to face a struggling NSW Waratahs, who have recorded just one win in their past six encounters.
Further wins against the Sydney-based Swifts partnership could set the Magpies into a playoff against Western Sting for finals spots.
“If we can grab three or four wins out of that, we will be in with a chance of making ANL finals,” Tasmanian coach Jon Fletcher said on reflection during the week.
The Magpies are back to full strength with the return of Mary Livesy from injury.
