Kyle Kelly is set to link up with countryman Dylan O’Connor in City’s away lineup against Clarence United after the club were told on Thursday his international clearance had been passed.
The 27-year-old is also still yet to train with the squad having just arrived in Launceston on Wednesday.
City recruited the pacy left wing come striker on the advice of O’Connor, the pair playing together via Greystones United in the Leinster Senior Football League.
Kelly, fresh from Dublin club TEK United, said he knew “not too much” of what to expect from the state league, but can also call on former teammates, Irishmen Aaron Leonard and Scott Mahony, both now at City.
“I’m a good friend of Dylan, so he filled me in a little about it, but am very excited to witness it for myself. I’m coming to Launceston to experience football on the other side of the world,” he said.
