Vaccinations
THE comment by former federal health department boss Stephen Duckett about one of the main reasons people don’t vaccinate their children is due to a lack of understanding and knowledge. In my view it is absolute nonsense (The Examiner, March 9 ). In NZ parents are given a choice about vaccinating their children. It’s called respecting a parents’ right to choose. There is none of this controlling attitude of ‘do as I say otherwise there will be consequences’.

Abetz’s World View
I WAS in need of good laugh and Senator Eric Abetz obliged with his comments about Labor-Green nastiness in this state hiding under the bed. Thank heavens that Mr Abetz’s federal team only preference those wonderful people at One Nation, fellow travellers in Mr Abetz’s one-sided world view.

Ten Days on the Island
AS PART of Ten Days on the Island program, Big hART’s production of Acoustic Life of Sheds is an absolute delight. From the performers, designers, volunteers, and of course, the farmer’s generosity and community spirit for allowing their sheds to be available for this very sublime experience.

Party politics
BRYAN Green hints that Brenton Best may make a comeback. Rumour is that Labor wants David O’Byrne back and that he has leadership aspirations. Looks like the same old crew that took Tasmania down into the deep, dark hole of financial hardships are now circling to try and take over again and do it all again. Tasmania is doing quite nicely just now thank you. Let’s hope voters see through the web that Labor is trying to pull down over our eyes.
