Society president Lionel Morrell said it was a satisfying result.
“All of the issues relating to the interior structure of 22 Charles Street, Fry's Store, and addressed by HPST in its appeal grounds were agreed to as we had requested,” he said.
“We requested nothing that had not previously been agreed, and so it is pleasing to see that Errol [Stewart] and Scott [Curran] in the end, agreed with what all previous owners had agreed to.”
Mr Stewart said preparation for the ground slabs had begun and the pile driver was on site being assembled.
“We will apply for a separate development application for the car park to go from 256 to 304 as well as dual slip lanes in and out to make it a bit safer as well,” he said.
“We are putting a cover over the ticket machines, it’s just small amendments but a new DA is necessary for the car park portion only.”
