The event saw Launceston 18-year-old Adam Garwood fend off competition from a 57-strong field to win the Contemporary competition and outright honours, while Hobart’s Damien Moore took out the Heritage category. 

Event director Stuart Benson said despite a wet start to the day, the classic had accomplished everything it set out to achieve.

“Overwhelming is the only way to describe the positive feedback from everyone involved,” Benson said.

“It looks like it could very comfortably become an annual event which is really good for a small town.”
