Can we survive
DURING the second world war humanity started a frantic search for more and more technology, technology which has now placed millions of people “worldwide” without work and in the next fifty years will become the most alarming issue facing those still alive and their children. Manufacturing in all its forms is being taken over by machines (robots) necessitating in only a skeleton staff, and with no wages to pay, or union dues, or holiday pay or penalty rates, or retirement fund to contribute into, resulting in even more massive profits for manufacturers said profits which should be taxed accordingly and added directly to help those who have been displaced by this ever, quicker growing technology.

I and others of my era will not be around to see the outcome of what takes place, and unless the world’s governments take on board the unfairness and inequality of the have and have nots there will be mayhem of the likes never before experienced.

Financial crisis
AUSTRALIA dodged a bullet in the global financial crisis. Our banks were less exposed, our finances thanks to the previous fourteen year continuous economic mining boom were in good shape. What to do? Tighten the purse strings or stimulate the economy? We know what other western countries did. To their detriment, we know what the conservatives would have done in this country. Google all you like Mark Gaetani (The Examiner, March 8, 2017). I know which party I would have preferred to get us through.
And a footnote: Not one corporate CEO or director has ever been prosecuted for their role in the GFC and the greed and duplicity that lies squarely at their feet and we all know which side of politics they support.

Feral animals
THE control of feral (ie. in the wild) rabbits has commenced. I have a solution for the control of feral (ie. in the wild) cats. It is based on a tried and tested, highly successful Tasmanian Colonial method. Put a bounty on them. Look how well it worked on the Thylacine.
