Unbeaten gelding Bettabrown Tiger should take another step closer to an interstate campaign when he contests the 2YO Pace in Devonport on Friday night.
The Melissa Maine-trained juvenile has been untroubled to win his only two starts and will go around at very short odds in a four-horse field.
Bettabrown Tiger was bought at the Australian Pacing Gold sale and Maine is aiming him at the mainland feature races restricted to sale graduates.
“The APG series is definitely on the agenda,” Maine told the harness.org.au web site after the gelding’s latest win in Hobart on February 12.
“We will just have to see how good he is going when the time comes.
“We believe he can go a lot further as the season goes on, but we’re just taking it nice and steady for now.
“If not for the APG series, at some stage we will have to take him to Victoria to try to pick up his Vicbred bonus.”
Bettabrown Tiger will be driven by Gareth Rattray.
