The Care for Africa cocktail party will feature a fashion parade, with clothing made by feature artist June Hope, and an exhibition of diverse, donated Tasmanian artworks for auction.
Care for Africa was founded in Launceston 11 years ago. They have built nine wells since.
CEO and co-founder Diana Butler said she believed people had shown the Launceston charity such great support as members reported back to donors and could demonstrate great outcomes from donations.
“The need is quite overwhelming, people don’t even have safe drinking water … [we go over] and we follow up … our donations,” Mrs Butler said.
Fundraiser tickets are $75 per person, and include canapes and a drink upon arrival. To purchase tickets, call Jenny Saunders on 0447 271 203. The event will be at Design Tasmania on the corner of Brisbane and Tamar Streets, on Friday, March 31 from 6.30pm to 9pm.
