The awards will open on Saturday with the introduction of new categories – heritage building for small projects, heritage garden or landscape projects and the heritage snap photography awards.
The photography awards will be aimed at young people in Grade 3 to Year 12 who will be encouraged to think about the theme “Launceston’s City Heart.”
Budding photographers can upload their photos to social media with the hashtag #Launcestoncityheart to enter the awards.
City of Launceston mayor Albert van Zetten said the awards helped to celebrate Launceston’s unique built heritage.
“It’s a great opportunity to see the fantastic work being done around the city,” he said.
