Senior Constable Amerikanos, 25, is now a fully-qualified operational motorcyclist with the Tasmania police force, just the second female ever to do so.
Having just completed her course, Launceston-born Senior Constable Amerikanos will head back to the North-West to patrol the Western district.
She will follow in the footsteps of Constable Kristy Eyles, who was the first female to pass the course in 2012.
Senior Constable Amerikanos has been riding motorcycles for seven years and was attracted to the idea of being able to ride at work.
“If you’ve been riding and you think it’s something that you want to do, I would definitely recommend it – it’s one of the best jobs I’ve ever had,” she said.
