The West Pine 24-year-old won a Tasmanian-dominated scratch race which also saw fellow Olympian Georgia Baker, of Perth, finish third and returning Macey Stewart, of Devonport, fourth.
"Really happy I could bring home two gold,” said Cure who only arrived back in Australia on Wednesday from the track world cups in Colombia and the US.
“I wasn't sure how I would go leading into this, but I have surprised myself, it has been great."
The win sealed Cure’s national dominance in the bunch races having claimed the points race on Saturday, in addition to her maiden omnium crown last December.
The dual world champion was well positioned throughout the race before unleashing her finishing speed to hold off Queenslander Kristina Clonan.
In the under-19 points races, Tasmanian results were Morgan Gillon (sixth), Renee Dykstra (12th), Amalia Langham (16th), Josh Duffy (10th), Ainsleigh Gray (13th) and Oscar Davie (17th). Duffy and Gray also came eighth in the madison.
Duffy was ninth, Gray 12th and Zack Gilmore 19th in the 40-lap scratch race.
Not a Nice start
Richie Porte’s hunt for a third Paris-Nice victory is not over despite the BMC team leader losing time on a windswept opening stage.
“It was a disaster but not too much of a disaster,” the Launceston rider said after an action-packed 148.3-kilometre stage to Bois d’Arcy won by Frenchman Arnaud Demare (FDJ).
Porte came in 16th, 47 seconds down, but fared better than several key rivals including Alberto Contador (Trek-Segafredo) who was another 17 seconds further back.
“We lost time but in the end we took more time back on some of the other favorites. Today wasn’t ideal but my team were fantastic. Once it splits like that and there is such a big group, then it’s hard. It’s not over. There are some strong guys in front but still a lot of racing to go.”
