The much-loved American comedian will visit Country Club Tasmania on March 10 with Organic, a show Barker says is even better than his last.
“Organic fruit and veg does come up briefly, the debate about cavemen and bread, did they have bread? If they didn't have bread, would they have preferred to have had bread? That's one of the topics that's covered extensively,” Barker said.
“It’s got some of my best material yet.”
2017 is shaping up as a big year for the Flight of the Conchords actor, with a TV show in the works and a household DIY series set to hit YouTube screens in the near future.
Barker promises the YouTube series will be legitimately useful for DIY wannabes – not that comedy won’t also be involved.
“Hopefully my personality will naturally infuse some humour into it but it's not scripted or forced; it’s genuinely inspired by watching these videos and seeing other people do it and thinking ‘gee, I could do that’.
“I’m not trying to show people the incorrect way to do things, but about a third of the time - and that's being generous - I probably don't know the correct way to do it, so I’ll make mistakes and then we'll talk about it, so it's really a journey.
“It'll keep me out of trouble, I have too much free time in the daytime and this way I'm sitting in my garage with a couple of power tools - what's the worst that could happen? I could lose a finger, or two maybe max.”
Organic will kick off at 8pm on March 10.
