Hobart Knights survived by the skin of their teeth to claim Tiger Bowl III in a 14-12 victory over the Gorillas.
In the best yet Gridiron Tasmania final, Launceston drove deep in the dying minutes for the win, but threw a red zone interception.
The Knights had the poise to hang on for one last play after another title-saving interception moments earlier.
Gorillas running back Mitch Lee was stripped of the ball, as Knights captain Tom Shepperd consequently returned it 40 yards.
The final in Hobart had the visitors take the early ascendancy after Taz Little carved through off the opening kickoff to touchdown first.
The Gorillas scored again when Marcus Dornauf hit Nick Boxhall for a 9-0 lead.
But the Knights back off Josh Havea’s kick returns and interceptions to hit the lead inside the last 10 minutes.
