Kayaker rescued from base of cliff
The Westpace Rescue Helicopter rescued a 37-year-old man of Campbell Town from the base of a cliff at Pearson’s Point in the state’s South about 5pm on Wednesday.

It is believed the man was squid fishing when his craft, thought to be a kayak, sank and stranded him.
Tasmania Police believe he had been there since 2pm on Tuesday.
Another kayaker saw the man and contacted police.
The man was taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital for assessment, he was released with minor head injuries.
