The Medicinal Cannabis - Hope or Hype? lecture will be presented by Professor Dom Geraghty, who has been a teaching and research academic at the University of Tasmania for almost 26 years.
Professor Geraghty, who is president of the Australiasian Society of Clinical and Experimental Pharamcologists and Toxicologists, said the debate had been rife with confusing information.
He will discuss how cannabis and its culture have changed, and the debate around the use of cannabinoids as therapeutic agents.
The lecture will take place at the Meeting Room at the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery, 2 Invermay Road, Inveresk on Sunday February 26 at 1.30pm. RSVP is required.
