It will feature 46 of the best drivers from every mainland state doing battle with local stars.

Brad Whitchurch is the reigning Tasmanian champion and runner-up in last year’s Australian title and says his home track is known as one that can be difficult to pass on.

Daniel Hartigan is the reigning Australian champion and also won the championship in 2014. He is yet to win a home state championship finishing runner up to three-time West Australian champion Tom Payet who has also made the trek to Tasmania.

South Australian champion Joel Chadwick is the only competitor from that state and is determined to win.

Queenslanders Scott Thomsen and his father Stephen have many wins between them and are no strangers to Tasmanian speedway, with Scott finishing runner-up in the Tasmanian championship last season.

A total of 18 Victorian drivers have made the journey across Bass Strait and include some serious talent such as veteran driver Peter Logue who has won multiple national and state championships in super sedans and has been racing wingless for three years.

Also from Victoria are Ebony Hobson and Carly Walsh, two serious female racers and with many victories between them who are not to be discounted.

A field of 21 Tasmanian competitors will be eager to do well.

Whitchurch loves his home track while Jeremy Smith has put in some solid drives in recent weeks winning several features and should be a strong competitor.

Sprintcar veteran Robin Dawkins has been adapting to this style of racing well and will be worth watching. Ryan Harding, Hayden McBain, Bradley Walkley, Wade Lello are all locals with fantastic car speed who could feature in the results.

With eight heats and a preliminary A-main final on the Friday and a further eight heats, with several qualifying finals before the 35-lap championship race on Saturday, it is bound to be a well deserved victory for the winner.

The Queen of Carrick features on Friday night with a huge 21-car field. Mel Collins won last year but will face strong challenges from Kylie Jetson and Claire Johnson.

Friday’s action will also have supports from juniors and rampcars while Saturday features speedcars and a huge field of 28 street stocks.

A grand parade will begin at 5.45 each night ahead of racing from 6pm.
