South Launceston have continued their dominance of women’s cricket in the Greater North with a second straight season undefeated but lost the state grand final to North Hobart by one wicket in a nail-biter last season.

“We are feeling pretty confident,” South Launceston captain Belinda Wegman said. We’ve worked very hard as a team this year and some of our younger girls are a year older and more experienced. “We have good depth in both our batting and bowling and have been concentrating on our fielding and getting that up to scratch.”
South will be relying on the likes of Wegman, Courtney Webb and Caitlyn Webster with the bat and Lisa Battle, Amy Duggan, Stacey Norton-Smith and spinner Ellie Matthews with the ball.
“We will travel down on Saturday as a team and have a look at our opposition.”
