The event is organised by the Riverside Aquatic Club.
Club secretary Lee-Anne Edmunds urged school students, learn-to-swim and fitness squad swimmers to take part in the competition.
“This is also a wonderful opportunity for students to get in some race practice before their swimming carnivals,” she said.
“The competition is held each year at the beautiful outdoor 33m pool at Riverside, in a friendly and welcoming environment.”
Extra events have been added to the program this year, giving swimmers the chance to compete in three-lap events as well as the usual one-lap races.
Warm-up is at 9am and competition in the 62-event program starts at 10am. Entry is $5 an event (to a maximum of $20 per swimmer or $50 per family).
To enter or for further information, email info@riversideaquatic.com.au stating name, date of birth, and events. Entries and payments can also be made in person on Saturday at the pool between 8.30 and 9am.
Swimmers who have won an individual medal in any of the four strokes at the Tasmanian short course championships 2016, Tasmanian age championships 2016 or Tasmanian age sprint championships 2017 are not eligible to compete at this meet in that stroke, irrespective of the distance in which the medal was won.
Medals will be presented to first, second and third place-getters.
