The club has won this event 12 times, equalling Mowbray who unfortunately will not compete this year.
Launceston has won four titles, the last in 2015, and its team will be Greg Longmore, Mitch Van Noord, Brett Churchill and Mathew Long.
Ulverstone’s team is Shayne Walker, Anthony Glozier, Cameron Allen and Xavier Lambie.
Fourteen clubs and associations from around the state have entered teams.
Mowbray held the third round of its club championships on Saturday, and the evergreen Mike Leedham posted a sensational four under par 67, taking a four-stroke lead into the final round over defending champion James Pyke.
The former state amateur champion and current Tasmanian senior amateur champion sits at one under par after rounds of 73, 72 and 67, while Pyke is at three over with 69, 73 and 74.
In B grade Chris Marriner leads with rounds of 86, 85, 86 by two strokes from Jim Malcholm and Terry Clare.
In C grade Jason French carded 94, 94 and 90 for a single-stroke lead over Lance Morcom, followed by Roger Clifford and Neil Phillips.
The final round will be played on Saturday.
In last week’s North West Women’s Open, Smithton’s Jackie Poke won the championship final 2/1 against Tammy Hall from Prospect Vale.
In Division Two, Lesley Kellaway won the final against fellow Scamander player Bobby Harwood 3/2 and in Division Three, Pam Hine defeated fellow Devonport player Margaret Sherriff one up.
Jane Donohue won the Consolation Match Play final 3/1 against another Devonport player Helen Plaister.
Senior champion was Lu Proud of Devonport and Judy Freiboth of Scamander won the Senior Nett Championship.
Riverside’s Hopwood Cup winners Len and Nathan Healey claimed the title by defeating Simon Rossiter and Jarrad Cirkel.
Andrew McCarthy won the putting championship.
Remember, entries close on Sunday for the Iris Meek 36-hole scratch, the June Atkinson B grade scratch, the Francis Hudson C grade scratch and the Shirley Atkinson Senior event at Launceston Golf Club on March 5.
