The middle and senior school events were held at Launceston Aquatic Centre with a program featuring freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and novelty events.
At the middle school carnival, some standout performances were:
- Jade Nichols, who won all four individual races in the under-14 girls’ events;
- Jonte Adams, who was first in the under-14 boys’ freestyle and breaststroke;
- Angus Robertson, who was first in the under-14 boys’ butterfly and backstroke
- and Kane Johnson, who won the under-13 boys’ freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke.
At the senior carnival, Jordan Cooper won the under-16 boys’ freestyle and breaststroke and set a new school record in the butterfly with a time of 28.79 seconds, surpassing the previous mark set in 2005.
Meg Campbell won the under-16 girls’ freestyle and backstroke with Abbey Badcock winning the same two events in the under-17 girls’ races.
Will Smith won the under-17 boys’ hat-trick of freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke.
Tenison took out the middle school swimming shield with Nagle winning the senior shield for 2017.
