Federal Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment Steve Ciobo signed the $50,000 project agreement in Canberra alongside Tasmanian Liberal Senator David Bushby and Tasmanian Premier Will Hodgman. The funds will be used to help Fermentasmania develop a business case and scoping study for the fermentation centre that will be located in Northern Tasmania.

“Tasmania is increasingly becoming known as a destination for fine dining experiences, with growing renown for our fermentation products, including boutique beer, whisky, ciders and cheeses,” Senator Bushby said.

“This is a growing sector within the economy, with fantastic opportunity for grassroots economic benefit.”

Fermentasmania was established in 2015 as an industry body committed to showcasing Tasmanian fermented products.
