“We took it home, pulled it apart and did a bit of history on it and found out that it was originally from down the Huon at Franklin, there was a group of nun’s down there and it was the nun’s car,” he said.
“There is a great big brass St Christopher screwed to the ashtray which I have left in, and we complete stripped it, it never had any extras on it so we put all of them on separately.”
More than 500 vehicles were registered for the second year of the show for classic and custom automobiles.
The event was organised by a group of local businessmen, who are also car enthusiasts, and saw the main street of Deloraine closed off.
Organiser David Sherriff said holding the event on the street helped to develop a great atmosphere
“We’re really impressed with the turnout of cars and the crowd … we actually had to open more parts of the street to fit the cars in.”
