The Department of Premier and Cabinet’s Local Government Division has drafted an amendment to the Local Government Act 1993, intended to alter rates levied on marine farmers.

It proposed that rate exemptions be expanded to apply to marine farms on non-reserve Crown land, not just those on reserve Crown land.
Interested parties were invited to provide written submissions to lgd@dpac.tas.gov.au.
Consultation concludes on February 27.
