The men, who arguably are the greatest ever in their sport, share a pedigree.
Just not the same profile.
Rockhampton pair Rod Laver and Jamie Dwyer have excelled since leaving the Queensland city more famous for its beef industry.
“Is he? I didn’t know that,” a surprised Dwyer said when told of the coincidence.
“I’ve never met Rod, actually, but would’ve love to.”
One has a face that brings thousands on the Australian Open centre court stand to attention by his presence.
The other can walk Launceston streets unnoticed.

Dwyer, who is conducting hockey clinics in Launceston on Thursday and Friday, said it was great pride the two imports can promote ol’ Rocky.
“Rockhampton has had a lot of talent come out, rugby league especially, but Rod Laver obviously with tennis,” the man voted world player of the year five times said.
“Then you’ve got Anna Meares with cycling, plus myself and (Kookaburras captain) Mark Knowles with hockey.
“It’s a pretty proud little town like Launceston.”
Is he? I didn’t know that. I’ve never met Rod Laver, actually.
