The 40-year-old, who retired from competition driving just a couple of months ago, was recognised for his stellar career and also for his significant contribution to charities through the Mark Webber Challenge.
During his career Webber started in 215 Formula One races for nine wins, 42 podiums, 13 pole positions and finished third in the championship in 2010, 2011 and 2013.
He retired from Formula One at the end of 2013 and joined the Porsche team to contest the FIA World Endurance Sports Car championship, winning the title in 2015.
During that time, he contested 25 endurance races for eight wins and 15 podiums, including a second place in the LeMans 24-hour race in 2015.
He was an outstanding competitor and ambassador for the sport and his country. We have reason to be proud.
