TCL captain Josh Adams won the toss and elected to bat on a flat UTas Stadium pitch in the Ricky’s Biggest Game of Cricket Twenty20 curtain-raiser.
A decision that had his side chasing 202 for glory with Cricket North openers Tom Garwood and John LeFevre getting them off to a fast start.
The pair piled on 33 runs in three overs before Garwood fell for 13 and Anderson waltzed to the crease.
LeFevre (31 off 21 balls) was dismissed by Liam Reynolds in the sixth over following a 31-run partnership with Anderson, who was the innings’ dynamo with 121 off 57 balls.
Alec Smith contributed 12 off 23 balls in a middle-order 72-run stand with Anderson, before falling in the 14th over to Kieren Davey with the score at 3-136.
Anderson was dropped twice in consecutive balls on 79 and again in the final over before eventually being caught off the last ball of the innings.
Alistair Taylor finished unbeaten on 15.
TCL off-spinner John Kedey (0-24 from four overs) proved difficult to get away, while Reynolds (1-27 from four overs) was the most successful.
Jesse Arnol, who claimed Anderson, was expensive with 1-47 as were fellow wicket-takers Davey (1-16 from two overs) and Jason Savage (1-35 from two overs).
The TCL needed 10 runs an over to be successful and their innings did not start too spritely.
Damian Woods failed to score off Jacob Kooran’s opening over who only gave away a wide.
Woods (17 of 30) and Savage (23 off 19) started moving along at about 6.5 runs an over before they fell in consecutive overs with the score at 47.
Reynolds (3) departed not long after to give Smith (2-12) his second wicket, leaving Adams (19 off 19) and Jackson Blair (26 off 29) to try and dig the TCL out of a deep hole.
Several batsmen came and went including Nathan Balym (5) and Jono Goss (4).
Kedey hit a late 18 but too many regular wickets fell and the TCL ended up 9-130.
Dom Rawlings (2-26) and Luke Johnson (4-17) were Cricket North’s best with the ball.
Kooran collected 1-18.
