Shane Knott
Golfers across the state would be saddened to hear of the sudden death last week of Shane Knott who was the Mowbray course superintendent.
Shane was very well known by greenkeepers within the turf industry. He represented Tasmanian as a junior and played Division One pennant for Mowbray. He will be sadly missed.
Foursomes
Rick Sindorff from Northern Golf has issued a reminder that this year’s Northern Foursome Championships for men and women will be played over 27 holes at Mowbray Golf Course on February 5.
Some excellent trophies will be available with Bob Saunders agreeing to transfer his sponsorship from the old country week event to this event.
Sindorff also advises that due to lack of numbers of junior golfers at Launceston and Riverside that junior pennant for 2017 will be played between Mowbray and Prospect Vale only.
Matches will be played on January 27 and 30 with one round at each club.
