The Hobart-born striker was last week released by Newcastle Jets and, with his manager Dave Clarkson fronting the push for Tasmania to get a team in the national competition, would love to play a part in making that happen.
“That would be fantastic,” Brennan told The Examiner.
“It would be massive for the state and all players would have a pathway if we had an A-League team here.”
In the meantime, the 23-year-old has announced he will join Melbourne side Bentleigh Greens in the National Premier Leagues Victoria.
Brennan played for South Hobart before moving to South Melbourne and landing a two-year contract at the Jets. After an injury-plagued debut season, he made a total of five appearances before the club announced last Thursday that he had left “by mutual consent”.
“It was a bit of a struggle but really good experience for my career,” Brennan said.
