At 50 cents a glass, or three for a dollar, one father said the successful venture was a bargain – deeming the stall a success. 

“I bought a couple myself, it’s really good actually. I thought it might just be one of those things where you get ripped off, but no,” David Reeve said.

“There were quite a few people who took advantage of it actually.”

Besides a small amount of help from Max’s mum to make the lemon syrup, the five cousins made the rest of the product. 

“They did everything else in terms of making the lemon water with the SodaStream, getting the ice, setting up the table and the little signs, they did most of the work.” 

Unsure where the idea came from, Mr Reeve said it was interesting watching the children work together. Tough decisions were made regarding where to set up the stall so it was shaded. 

“I don’t know which one had the brainwave, but it was a good idea anyway.” 

The profits have been split equally. 

“I’d imagine they’ll either buy a toy or some ice-creams, some are going to put it away in their money box.”

Mr Reeve said the venture was “very harmonious”. He said the children seem like little entrepreneurs and might be able to set up a franchise and sell lemonade all around the place.

“No business break-ups, yet,” Mr Reeve said.
