In a powerful display, the Robins were much too strong for their more fancied opponents Latrobe, defeating them by 37 shots although rinks were shared.
The big winners for the Robins were Sam McLean, Ian Turvey, Peter Randall and Lee Pearson who defeated Greg Douce 37-12.
Not to be out done, Eden Moore, Robert Eudey, Peter Thow and Alec Campbell continued their big week with a 35-13 shot margin over Philip Mundy.
These two big rink wins more than covered the wins by the Demons Griffiths and Johns.
The loss by Latrobe, while not altering ladder positions, means they have fallen a game and a bit behind ladder leaders Burnie.
The Penguin team decided to turn up and play up to their obvious ability in their very crucial clash with South Burnie.
Their 34-shot win was an even affair with all rinks playing well.
However, it was Julian Brown, Chris Dudman, Wayne Willcox and Harvey Clarke who set up the win with their 28-14 shot margin over Alan Carver.
Jacob Brown had seven to spare against Ricky Richardson as did Aaron Page over Luke Richardson.
To top off a great day for the Two Blues, Jarryd Brown defeated Grant Youd by six.
The win by Penguin keeps them in contention with a chance to break back into the four.
On the other side, South Burnie now know that they still have work to do if they want to be genuine finals contenders.
Burnie as expected, rebounded from last week’s loss with a 21-shot defeat of Port Sorell, winning on three rinks and sharing the fourth.
Patrick Smith with solid support from Bruce Frith, John Russell and David Gewin finished 11 shots to the good of Paul Marshall, which went a long way to ensuring a Burnie victory.
Mark Nitz returned to form with a 30-23 shot margin over Bob Jago, and Jeremy Turner got the better of Aaron Jago by three.
The win by the Tigers shoots them right to a clear 23-point lead on top of the ladder.
Port who started the season off in a blaze of glory have found the going hard these last few weeks.
They now find themselves in seventh position on the ladder and in danger of losing sight of the top four.
Devonport were without their top skip Leon Webb, but still managed to easily defeat a depleted Spreyton combination by 30 shots.
Patrick Wilson, filling in for Webb, was the biggest winner for the Pies defeating Mike Higginson by eleven.
Dale Smith had eight up his sleeve against Murray Baulch and Tristan Bakes won 23-16 against Clinton Steers.
To give the Pies maximum points Ben Fidler defeated Ian Moore 24-20.
All eyes now turn to the Penguin Classic Pairs tournament which will be played across three days, starting Monday at Penguin, Ulverstone and Turners Beach.
