Among them will be Courtney Laskey of Blackstone Heights, a woman who knows the importance of self-confidence, determination and going for gold.
After a horse riding accident left her severely injured, Ms Laskey said it was good to be confident in modelling and enjoying the pageant process once more.
Miss World Australia’s Beauty with a Purpose movement encourages women to “live a compassionate and humanitarian life”.
Ms Laskey said pageants are a great opportunity for young women to gain self-confidence, with the pageant process “so empowering” and supportive.
“You have this big group of women who want to support you, and there’s so much education and support with everything you do with the pageant, it’s amazing,” she said.
Miss World’s Tasmania finals will be held at Pepper’s Seaport on Saturday, February 4 from 2pm.
