Failure to reach a resolution with CYAN, who supplied the unique Volvo engines, came to nothing and efforts by Rogers to buy the engines was also rebuffed.
In a media statement Rogers said some consideration had been given to running the generic Chevrolet engines in the Volvo cars but was dismissed quickly “as I was never comfortable with that option in any case”.
Prior to inking the Volvo deal in 2013, GRM had run Commodores exclusively in the championship and has been running cars in the second-tier development series so there is a great deal experience available.
Only problem is there will now be 16 Commodores on the grid in Adelaide against six Falcons and four Nissans. Anyone for Formula Commodore?
