A Westpac rescue helicopter was dispatched to a property on Garibaldi Road, Pioneer in the state’s North East. It was responding to reports of a 5-year-old girl who had been bitten by a snake.

It is believed a tiger snake bit the young girl.
The child was transported the Launceston General Hospital, in a stable condition.
Another rescue helicopter evacuated an injured walker at Hartz Peak, Geeveston in the state’s South.
