Misha is trained to wake Mr Gresham from his nightmares. She can even soothe Mr Gresham when he has a panic attack. He lives with post-traumatic stress disorder. After struggling to obtain appropriate support to train Misha, he set up Misha’s Mates, to help other veterans or emergency services personnel with acquired brain injuries or mental health issues train their service dog.
“She’s helped me grow as a person, and become much more social,” he said.
A trivia night will be held to raise funds for Misha’s Mates at the Evandale Cricket Club at Morven Park, Barclay Street, Evandale on Saturday February 4. The bar opens at 6pm and quiz starts at 7pm. It is $10 per head with tables of up to eight. To book call Andrea or Nick Evans on 6391 8732 or 0429 523 175. Guests are asked not to bring alcohol. Children are welcome. Misha’s Mates is expanding to a supportive bushwalking program. To learn more, visit mishasmates.com
