The council will receive a total of $6.4 million for works including an amenities upgrade at the Cressy Recreation Ground, the Ross Town Square development, a council office carpark with disabled access and a new concrete footpath program.
The loan was announced by Premier Will Hodgman, Treasurer Peter Gutwein and Northern Midlands mayor David Downie at the Longford Recreation Ground, which will get a $550,000 upgrade.
“Local contractors will be used in the redevelopment and once the work is done, the local community will have much better infrastructure,” Mr Hodgman said.
Mr Gutwein said eight councils had applied for funding under the loan program, with the projects totaling more than $40 million.
The scheme is open until the end of March.
