The 71-year-old has just completed the Tasmania leg of his journey and laid 17 flags at the birthplaces of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
“I started on the 18th on June … and I have completed the south-eastern part of Western Australia and I will finish back in Western Australia in about three years time from the start date,” Mr Eade said.
“I’ve completed all of South Australia, 80 per cent of Victoria and I have just finished Tasmania, which incorporated Flinders Island which I finished yesterday.”
He was inspired by American Mike Ehredt, who ran across the United States and placed a flag every mile during his journey to remember fallen veterans.
He began planning Remembrance Ride OZ in February 2016 and spent months researching each soldier.
“My first flag in Tasmania was for Cameron Stewart Baird, who won the VC posthumously in Afghanistan.”
