Tasmanian boys finished the day winning four of the state’s five opening games.
The Tassie under-18s gave hosts Albury-Wodonga a 113-44 thrashing in pool one.
Jack Stanwix starred to put away 30 points, Brady Templar adding 23 and Jacob Richards 21.
Tasmania’s pool-two side also won comprehensively over New Zealand Kea 88-34, with Nicholas Bingham scoring a game-high 22 points.
Tasmania’s pool two under-16s defeated New Zealand 68-44 in pool two. Taran Armstrong led the state with 20 points, as Tarkyn Whitehouse added 15.
Tasmania’s girls won 50-40 over New Zealand Kea in pool one of the under-16s. Emily Amos with 12 and Aishah Anis with 11 were the best of the scorers.
Tassie suffered a 86-40 loss to New South Wales, as Sharn Hayward shot 16 points.
New Zealand Kea beat Tasmania under-14 girls 62-42 despite Olivia Harman scoring 18 points.
Tasmania under-14 boys lost a 57-52 nailbiter to the New Zealanders. The SA Sharks were too strong for the Devils 81-45 in pool two.
