Trevor was 25-years-old when he was last seen at the Launceston Airport in 1993.
After his sister, Leanne Bailey, dropped him off for his flight she had no idea she would never see her little brother again.
The following day, on January 16, Trevor called Leanne and told her he had landed. That would be the last time she would hear his voice.
Twenty four years later and Leanne still spends each day thinking about what happened to him.
“He said that he would call me when he got to where he was going … that phone call never came,” she said.
“Our family has tried to cope with it the best way we know how … it’s the most empty feeling anyone could imagine.”
His disappearance was not the first tragedy the family faced.
Three years before, in 1990, Leanne and Trevor’s 20-year-old brother Craig was killed in a tragic car accident.
“I really don’t know how we handled losing them both… dad was really strong for mum and I,” Leanne said.
“Families need to treasure everyday with each other, you never know when they won’t be there.”
While there has been no news relating to Trevor’s disappearance for “quite a while”, Leanne said she still had hope.
“My worst fear is that Trevor has met with foul play, he would never have his family this worried for this amount of time.
“I hope he will come back or we will at least know what happened.”
She described him as being “the funniest guy” who always put his family first.
“Sometimes he would go off somewhere but it wouldn't be long before he turned up on my doorstep with a carton under his arm and say ‘did ya miss me sis?’
“People remember him as a great friend and I still get people asking me if I have heard anything all these years later. I really miss him and love him and not a day goes by I don't think of him.”
Trevor would be 50 this year.
He is described as 182 centimetres tall, slim build, blue eyes and black hair.
His disappearance has been treated as suspicious and information received by police suggested he may have been in Western Australia in 1996, three years after he was reported missing.
