Brightside Farm Sanctuary founder Emma Haswell put an urgent callout on Facebook on Wednesday, seeking short and long-term foster carers for the pups.
The post was shared more than one thousand times and Ms Haswell was inundated with messages from locals offering assistance.
“Thank you to the 75 people who have texted me about fostering greyhounds … the dogs will love going to foster homes and we also have plenty ready for adoption," she said in an online update on Thursday.
The non-profit sanctuary at Cygnet in the state’s South is home to 250 animals and more than 700 greyhounds have been adopted from the shelter over the years.
