The festival this week announced the acts for the Homebrewed stage for the New Year’s Eve event.
It was introduced last year, and festival producer Paul Piticco said it was such a success that the stage was welcomed back with open arms.
“We look forward to the acts playing the Homebrewed Stage coming back to play our main stages in the years to come,” Mr Piticco said.
One such band is Launceston’s Cardinels, who have been playing around Tasmania and Melbourne for about 12 months.
Bassist Sheridan Kerr said the band was excited to share its music with a new audience.
“It’ll be a great way for us to wrap up - and celebrate - a really productive and successful year,” Kerr said of the five-piece.
“We really wanted to apply to play last year, but we felt that we weren’t quite ready, as we’d only been playing shows for a couple of months at that point.
“We wanted to put on a really good performance, and also be a bit more experienced and established as a band before taking on that kind of stage.”
Cardinels are preparing for another stellar year, with 2017 set to see them release their debut album, and a film clip.
Catch Cardinels on the Homebrewed stage at 9pm on December 29.
The Falls Festival at Marion Bay runs from December 29 to January 1.
Tickets are still available, for $249 for a two-day pass, and $289 for a three days.
