The sale was held in conjunction with Roberts and was held at the Campbell Town showgrounds on December 9.
The sale was the first of its kind in Tasmania for more than 20 years. It was described as a resounding success with about 40 rams sold. The top price for the animals was $3,300 achieved for two rams from Camelford and Trefusis.
A spokesperson from Roberts said it was outstanding to see such a large crowd and strong local support for the sale.
“The buoyant wool market is generating more interest in merino wool production bodes well for similar sales.”
