The gutsy five-wicket win ensured the third-placed Pool B team takes on the West Australians in the crossover clash on Monday.
Lindisfarne 17-year-old Keegan Oates registered an unbeaten 95 from 92 balls to guide his state to its third win from five matches at the 2016/17 Australian under-19 cricket championships.
Queensland had set a solid 232 for victory on the back of a second half-century of the tournament from Harrison Wood (89).
Liam Ward was the pick of the Tassie bowlers, collecting 3-53 off nine overs.
Star Mowbray allrounder Fletcher Seymour finished with 1-28 off six.
Tasmania had collapsed to 4-66 in the run chase.
Seymour joined Oates to put on an invaluable 54-run fifth wicket stand.
The Tasmanian captain was run out for 14 off 42 balls to put Queensland back on top.
But North West’s James Odgers proved more than a worth ally for Oates.
The keeper/batsman, who moved to Clarence to further benefit his cricket, belted 52 not out off just 49 deliveries.
The winner of Tassie’s first final will come up against Victoria Metro in Wednesday’s semi-final.
Meanwhile, Mowbray’s Jarrod Freeman will play in the other qualifying final for Cricket Australia’s XI.
Freeman’s side beat South Australia by nine wickets to send the hosts tumbling out of the championships.
