Ravenswood child and family centre leader Lynn Wyllie-Watson estimates more than 250 people attended the event, making it “a good night”.
“The community members said they would like to have something like this in their community because a lot of them cant get down to the City Park,” Mrs Wyllie-Watson said.
“They wanted to have something for their children in their own community.

“There’s a sense of ownership and empowering for the local community to see they can do it and do it well.”
The aim of the event was to replace possible bad memories of the community and create happier memories.
“We have a lot of bad news stories in this community, so it’s really important that when we experience good things, that the happy memories replace other memories that might not be good,” Mrs Wyllie-Watson said.
The event was supported and “taken-up” by the local community, she said.
