Burnie retains top position after a nail biting seven-shot defeat of Penguin 89-82 after sharing the rinks.
Mark Nitz finally showed the form we expect of him with a 32-11 shot defeat of Jacob Brown.
Nitz had good support from Jason Morrisby, John Davis and Patrick Saltmarsh.
For the Two Blues Aaron Page backed up by Bradley Gibson, Keven White and Brian Butler did his best to get his team over the line with a 26-12 shot defeat of Patrick Smith.
Devonport almost pulled off the upset of the round with their narrow three-shot loss to South Burnie.
South had Ricky Richardson, Bob Mayfield, Cameron Windrum and Peter O’Donnell playing match-winning bowls to defeat Tristan Bakes 35-13.
The win went a long way to ensuring a South Burnie victory.
Luke Richardson defeated Ben Fidler 24-22 to give the South their second rink win.
For the Pies, it was Dean Martin, Dale Smith, Vic Burnett and Trent Lowrie who led the way by doubling their opponents score.
Not to be outdone, the reliable Leon Webb rink also played many telling bowls to defeat Alan Carver by 12.
Ulverstone let Port Sorell know that winning games in Premier League is not easy. The Robins won on all rinks by a massive 67 shots.
The biggest winner was Sam McLean who defeated Paul Marshall by 29. McLean was well backed up by his father Geoff, Bob Franklin and Lee Pearson.
Mick Oliver made a welcome return to form with a 32-16 shot margin over Luke Marshall while Tony Sutton made it a bad day for the Marshall clan by defeating Josh by 17. To top off a great day for the Robins, Eden Moore defeated Port’s Aaron Jago by five.
Latrobe played host to Spreyton but that’s where the good will stopped. In a power display by the Demons they defeated the Spreyton lads by 65 shots. It was a resounding win by Latrobe.
The leader of the slaughter was Anthony Johns who tuned up for a big day in today’s Statewide Challenge with a 42-19 shot defeat of Tony Dickson.
Phillip Mundy decided he wanted to be in the action as well as Johns as his 35-12 shot win would indicate. To top off a very successful day for the Demons Greg Douce defeated his opponent by 20.
It was left to Michael Higginson to save some pride for the Eagles by virtue of his one-shot victory over Colin Griffiths.
Winners in Division One were South Burnie over Devonport by 13, Burnie by 21 over Penguin and Latrobe finished 25 to the good of Turners Beach.
Wynyard remained undefeated with a close two-shot win over Ulverstone.
In Division Two Latrobe defeated Turners Beach by the solitary one shot.
Port Sorell defeated Sheffield by 14 and Wynyard easily accounted for Railton by 30.
East Devonport were 15 shots better than South Burnie.
